Red Bull, the one that started it all. Well maybe not the first energy drink, but Red Bull is definitely the most well known energy drink around. Now on to the taste of this drink, I have heard it said that Red Bull tastes like Smarties Candy in a can, but honestly I don’t taste that. The taste is really quite hard to explain. When I first drank a Red Bull I thought it was quite disgusting but since then I have kind of acquired a liking for it. Red Bull is not one of my favorite energy drinks; I prefer the likings of AMP or Full Throttle. Oh and definitely drink this beverage chilled, it is quite disgusting when warm.
I decided to review Red Bull on a nice warm day because I was sitting at my desk, bored with nothing to do. I was hoping that it would give me wings like the commercials say… unfortunately I didn’t sprout wings and I couldn’t fly. Almost instantly my foot start tapping uncontrollably and I had a sudden urge to run around the block. Now these aren’t exactly normal effects of Red Bull, but rather side effects of being bored and drinking a Red Bull. In fact after about 15 minutes that urge to go running and the tapping of my foot had already stopped, now I just felt energized and ready to get on with my day and do something worth while. Red Bull kept me going for several hours and was quite energizing. It isn’t the most energizing drink I have had, but it is definitely better than a lot of what’s on the market today. As far as I can tell there wasn’t a crash after drinking Red Bull, but rather the energy just wore off slowly; although this may be different depending on the individual drinking it.
