AMP Energy Overdrive

AMP Energy Overdrive comes in a black and red can with a large AMP logo in silver and white. The red on the can and the red color of the liquid both led to me think that this drink would have a cherry taste, and it had just that. The can has kind of a cool look to it, unfortunately there is far too much text on it. The front of the can is also quite jumbled with different descriptions, names, and ingredients.

AMP Energy Overdrive is a cherry infused version of the original AMP Energy Drink. This drink has an intense cherry flavor in addition to the original AMP flavor. This flavor is very similar to Mountain Dew Code Red or Mountain Dew Game Fuel. This drink does a good job at covering up the medicinal taste found in other drinks. On the downside, this drink is a bit heavy and syrupy at times.

This drink provided a nice boost. The energy came quick and lasted for numerous hours. This drink advertises that it contains a specially formulated turbo boost of yerba mate to get you going. This is the first time that I had heard of yerba mate, which is a shrub or small tree. Yerba mate is supposed to provide a much cleaner stimulation than a simple dose of caffeine. In addition to yerba mate, this drink also contains the usual taurine, ginseng, guarana, and B vitamins to keep you going.
