Guru Lite comes in a white, silver and red can that is similar to the original Guru can. The design of the 12 ounce "slim" can works well for a lite or diet drink, but it doesn’t fit in with the rest of the colorful Guru products. An interesting thing to note is that this drink is 100% organic and natural. (This product is also available in 8.3 oz cans.)
Like the original Guru Energy Drink, Guru Lite is most like the "typical" energy drink flavor out of all the Guru products, but this drink is anything but typical. For one, Guru Lite Energy Drink is 100% natural and is made with organic fruit juices. There are no preservatives or taurine and it is only lightly carbonated. The taste is blend of white grape and lemon juices. There is a rather significant medicinal aftertaste from the sweeteners that is worse then other diet drinks I have tasted. Also, the after taste lingers in your mouth after you finish this drink.
Guru Lite Energy Drink is natural and organic, but does it pack the punch of a “typical” energy drink such as Rockstar or Monster? Like the original Guru, Guru Lite packs in 97 mg of natural caffeine per serving, for a total of about 146 mg in the 12 ounce can. Guru Lite does not contain Taurine, a common ingredient found in most energy drinks, but they do pack in a bunch of other natural energy related ingredients such as guarana, ginseng, and ginkgo biloba. Overall, this drink packs a punch that is comparable to the “typical” energy drinks.
